Task 029 Plan and Produce an Edited Image

Post your Task 029 a reply to the Task 029 Discussion Board thread.
Include your
desription of editorial intent (Part C below) as the body of the posting.
Include both the Original and Edited Images as attachments to the message.

Task 029 Production:

As Preparatory tasks, we used four basic techniques for editing an image: resizing, cropping, rotating, and replacing.

We then Analyzed the visual message(s) that an editor attempted to shape by using these editing techniques to alter an original image.

For task 029 you will take on the role of editor and plan and apply image editing techniques, individually or in combination, to alter an original image to shape a visual message.

Part A. Choose image(s) to serve as your original. Analyze its message using the same method as Part 1 in the foregoing Task 028.

Part B. Plan and Produce an edited version of the original that changes the message. Use an image editing tool to carry out your editing plan (adding, removing or combining portions). This may prove to be iterative as you edit and revise your process.

Part C. Describe your intent in changing the message through image editing. Include your analysis of the original and edited images.

Task 029 Reflection:

Reply with your reflection on the edited and original images created by your classmates on the Task 029 Discussion Board Thread.   Remember, you are serving as an informed observer, not a critic. Your reflection is to articulate the message(s) and methods that you perceive in the edited and original images; not to reach a value judgement (i.e. good or bad; effective or not) about these messages or the methods used to create them. Please Reflect rather than Evaluate.
