Task 035c Produce Audio Program
When all the individual script elements have been recorded and saved, the project is ready for the post-production edit/mix process used to create the final audio program.
As a matter of efficiency, Narration/Dialog segments are often pre-recorded in their entirely. They are then used as primary Post-Production segment files, and the other elements are inserted and/or mixed in according to the script.
Using the script, and a visual timeline (see diagram below), insert or mix each sound file in Audacity in the sequence outlined in the script. A “visual timeline” diagram of the elements of the sample script would look as follows (an “x” indicates an insert edit from either music or special effects track):
Each row in the visual timeline would be a track in Audacity.
When all the tracks have been arranged and sequenced, save the file in two ways:
1. Use File > Save Project As ... to save the Audacity project for future use.
2. Use File > Export as WAV to create the Audio Program file
Save your Script and Audio Program file as attachments to the Task 035 Discussion Board.
