Task 035b  Pre-recording

Each narration/dialog, music clip, and sound effect element is pre-recorded and saved as a separate file.

By examining the sample script, we can determine the specific sound files that are used in this program.  Each element is identified by type: Narr  (narration/dialog), Music, and SFX (sound effects).  Each type is further identified by a number indicating unique files.  Often, music and sound effects are used repeatedly, such as theme songs and laugh tracks.

In this example we note the following pre-recorded elements:

Segment 1
Music 1:      Pirates of the Caribbean theme song
Pirate:         Narration

Segment 2:
SFX 1:        (Applause)
Music 2:      Halloween sounds
Pirate:          Narration
 Matilda:      Narration

Segment 3
Music 1:      Pirates of the Caribbean theme song
Pirate:         Narration

The first step, then, in creating an audio program is to use the script to guide in the recording and saving of all the separate program elements.

Assignment:  Pre-record all the elements of the audio program script you created in Task 035a.
